The Japan Meteorological Agency today announced that Cyclone Asani could have light to moderate rainfall in isolated areas of Orissa, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh from Tuesday.

Rain began on Tuesday evening, and a yellow warning was issued in the event of rainfall in the three districts of Gajapati, Ganjam and Puri, Orissa. Heavy rain warnings were issued on Wednesday in five districts: Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack and Ganjam.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, heavy rains are expected in West Bengal this Wednesday and Thursday, and heavy rains are likely to occur in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
