Haflong-Sri Lanka Road Restoration Continues

Haflong: Restoration of Haflong-Sri Lanka road communications continues by constructing a bypass road from Sontira to Chotowap via the Bacolma and Siron-Silchar roads.

From May 15th to 16th, the Haflong-Sri Lanka road from Sontila to Chotowap was heavily affected by heavy rains and landslides. At least 20 to 25 places were damaged, 15 places were heavily damaged, and people moved on foot.

There was damage from Gang-jun to Chotowap, but it was resolved under the leadership of executive members Nogit Kemprai and Devogit Basari. A subway has been built from Seo Kang-joon to Chotowap via Bacolma and SS Road to connect Ganjung and Haflong, and will be completed soon.

From Diyungbra Tinali to the Lower Haflong section of the Haflong-Lanka road, construction under the Assam-Mala project was honored. One of the district’s oldest roads, the Haflong-Sri Lanka Road, has played a vital role in the socio-economic development of the people living in the region. Moreover, the Haflong-Sri Lanka Road is just a means of communication for the people of the region. There are opinions that there are many places from Taijuwari to Sontira that have a large impact and take a long time to recover.
