Four Missing Boat Cap Sizes in Brahmaputra: Assam Police

At least four people went missing after a boat was detained on the Brahmaputra River in Dibrugarh, Assam, on Sunday, police said.

When they were taken prisoner in Ramaria near Chabua, they said nine were traveling on a motorized country boat.

“Five people swam in the bank, but four are still missing. We called the NDRF. The NDRF is conducting extensive investigations throughout the region and downstream,” said Bitul Chetia, an additional foreman in Dibrugarh. Told PTI.

He added that Vice-Chairman Dibrugarh Biswajt Pegu, senior district disaster management officials, fire and emergency service personnel, and other personnel are present.

Chetia said the missing persons were identified as Shankar Yadav, Sangkur Kurmi, Dhamen Das, and Kishan Yadav.

“They went to Balijan after going to get milk and vegetables from Polo Banga Chapoli. There are 60 households in Polo Banga, and these people regularly commute from Lahamaria to Polo Banga.” He said.
