Former minister Dileswar Tanti passes away at GMCH

DOOMDOOMA: Former Labour minister and former MLA of Doomdooma LAC, Dileswar Tanti (79) handed away at Gauhati Medical Faculty & Hospital (GMCH) on Wednesday.

Born to Tilak Tanti and Sonamoni Tanti on February 2, 1944, Dileswar Tanti had his early training at Digboi. After qualifying his MA in Economics from Gauhati College (GU), he served as a lecturer of Economics in Sonari Faculty throughout 1970 -1971. Thereafter, he served as an Assistant Secretary of Asam Chah Mazdoor Sangha(ACMS), Doomdooma Department from 1971 to 1978. He acquired elected to Assam Meeting in 1978 from Doomdooma constituency and retained the publish until 2005. Throughout 1991 to 1996 he was labour minister within the Hiteswar Saikia ministry. He was elected normal secretary of ACMS central committee in 2009.

He acquired married to Kamala Tanti (Sawachi) in 1971, who predeceased him a couple of years again. He’s survived by two daughters and a son.

Tanti has three revealed books to his credit score – Chah Janagosthir Lokageetar Samikhya, Asamor Chah Janagosthir Kichu Katha and Jhumoir geetor maje maje. He carved a distinct segment for himself as a tea tribe author. He was properly versed in tea tribe tradition and will sing their ethnic songs fairly effortlessly.
