Former Chief Secretary of Assam Arunoday Bhattacharjee dies at 85
SILCHAR: Former Chief Secretary of Assam, Arunoday Bhattacharjee breathed his final on Saturday night at his personal residence in Noida. He was 85. Bhattacharjee, who was affected by a number of old-age associated illnesses, leaves behind his spouse and three sons.
Arunoday Bhattacharjee hailed from Karimganj. A meritorious pupil, Bhatacharjee did his greater research in Presidency School of Kolkata and later studied at London Bradford College. After a quick stint as trainer in Jadavpur College, Bhattacharjee joined the executive service. His bureaucratic profession began as Deputy Commissioner in Tezpur. Throughout Hiteswar Saikia’s authorities, Bhattacharjee was promoted to the publish of Chief Secretary of the state.
An ace author, Bhattacharjee authored 4 poetry books each in English and Bengali. He was given the distinguished V Ok Menon Award for his e-book on administrative reforms.
