Floods in Assam: Agriculture Director Anant Lal Gyani inspects flood-affected areas

TEZPUR: Agricultural Director Anant Lal Gyani, along with MLA Borsola Ganesh Limboo, visited Tegbasti on Wednesday under the Dhekiajuli Earnings Circle.

During his visit, he was accompanied by Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Deva Kumar Mishra, Circle Officer, Dekiajuri, Tanmoi Bora, and especially senior officials from the District Agricultural Office.

About 250 families live in the Tegbasti district, which was separated from the mainland by the floods. Authorities distributed relief supplies provided by MLABorsola to residents during their visit.

At the behest of the Assam state government, senior government officials are tasked with visiting areas affected by the recent flood waves and submitting reports to the government.

Later that day, the Director of Agriculture also visited the Monobag TE tea plantation labor line, which was heavily affected by the Sopai River during the flood. At the relief camp set up at the Panbari Model HS School, residents of the delivery line have been given shelter and are currently working to restore the delivery line so that prisoners can return home as soon as possible.
