"Everyone has to think about themselves": Kapil Shibal about quitting parliament

“It’s always hard to move on, but everyone has to think about themselves,” said senior leader Kapil Sibal, who announced today that he has resigned from the 30-year-old party.

“I think it’s time to have an independent voice in parliament. I didn’t want to get caught up in any of the party’s seats,” Kapil Shibar told Bibarud.

“If you’ve been at a party for a long time and stick to that ideology, it’s always difficult. Everyone has to think for themselves if it’s time to do something different.”

He said he would work to bring all parties together on one platform to fight the BJP in the 2024 general election. But is it possible to form an opposition coalition without parliament?

“We try to bring everyone together on a common platform. All parties. Congress is a party, isn’t it?” Shibal replied.
