Diamonds Value Rs 3.5 Crore Stolen, Two Arrested: Mumbai Police

The Mumbai police have arrested two diamond brokers in reference to the theft of valuable stones price Rs 3.5 crore, an official stated on Monday.

The police arrested Bharat Kandol (39) from Gujarat and Amrut Bhai Patel (58) from the Mumbai’s Goregaon, whereas the mastermind behind the crime, Kaushik Chovatila, is on the run, the official from Bandra-Kurla Complicated (BKC) police station stated.

An FIR was registered on July 18, following which the duo was arrested final week and the stolen stones have been recovered from them, he stated.

The accused had allegedly contacted a diamond service provider, expressing curiosity in buying some stones and visited his BKC workplace on July 7, the official stated.

That they had chosen three stones throughout their go to and left the premises saying they are going to return in per week with the cash for the diamonds, he stated.
