Death in Chennai Detention: Postmortem reports reveal 13 different wounds

A posthumous report of 25-year-old Vignesh, who died during police detention in Chennai last month, revealed that he had 13 different bruises on his body. However, the exact cause of death has not yet been clarified as further reports are awaited. Police claim that Bignes had a seizure and died, but his family and rights activists claim he was tortured.

Postmortem reports reveal contusions on several body parts, including his head, above the eyes, cheeks, and arms.

Vignesh was arrested by police on April 18 on suspicion of possessing marijuana. He died the next day while in police custody.

A sensational CCTV footage appeared earlier this week, showing two police officers chasing Vignesh when they stumbled and fell. The policeman later arrested the man and beat him once with what looked like a police baton.

While police officers are detaining him, one police officer can be seen picking something up from the ground. Police sources claim that it was the knife Vignesh threw at them during the chase.
