Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has apologised to President Droupadi Murmu for calling her “Rashtrapatni” in a media interview earlier this week.

“I’m writing to precise my remorse for having mistakenly used an incorrect phrase to explain the place you maintain. I guarantee you that it was a slip of the tongue. I apologise and request you to simply accept the identical,” Mr Chowdhury wrote in a letter to President Murmu, the nation’s first President from the tribal group.

The BJP had additionally demanded an apology from Congress chief Sonia Gandhi after her occasion chief made the remark.

Mr Chowdhury, the chief of the Congress in Lok Sabha, had used the “Rashtrapatni” comment whereas speaking to reporters throughout his occasion’s protests over a bunch of points.
