China "Dangerous and flirting"US protects Taiwan in case of invasion: Biden

President Joe Biden vowed that US troops would defend Taiwan militarily if China tried to control the autonomous islands by force on Monday, warning Beijing that it was already “at risk.”

Biden’s most powerful statement to date on this issue in Tokyo, where he is meeting with the Japanese Prime Minister prior to Tuesday’s summit, is the region over China’s growing economic and military power. The tension is rising.

Allies like Washington and Japan have put together a harsh response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine as a warning to others, especially China, about the consequences of unilateral military action.

Biden confided the message after meeting with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. There, they agreed to monitor China’s naval activities and joint exercises between China and Russia.

When asked if Washington was willing to engage in military involvement to protect Taiwan, Biden simply answered “yes.”
