BJP’s Maniksaha became Prime Minister of Tripura a year before the election

Hours after Tripura’s Prime Minister Biprab Kumardev resigned due to a sudden political twist, BJP appointed Dr. Maniksaha to replace him just one year before the legislative vote. A professional dentist, Mr. Saha was elected to Parliament in Rajasaba last month and is also President of Tripura at BJP.

After the rushed BJP legislative meeting, Mr. Fat announced Mr. Saha’s name and said he would extend cooperation to the new prime minister. Minister Ram Prasad Paul protested the proposal, which led to a dispute between MLAs. Paul also broke some chairs before the situation settled down. A video of him screaming and hitting a chair on the ground emerged.

Paul reportedly appointed Deputy Prime Minister Jishnu Dev Balma, a former member of the Tripla royal family, as the next Prime Minister.

Some BJP MLAs claim that they have not been consulted and that the central leadership has made arbitrary decisions.

BJP senior leaders Bhupender Yadav and Vinod Tawde were observers in the election of legislative leaders.
