"Pull Achilles Yadaf out of the air-conditioned room": Samajwadi Party ally

BJP first at both UP by pole seats on Achilles Yadaf’s home turf

The BJP was able to get ahead of the Samajwadi Party as the votes counted in the Uttar Pradesh constituencies of Lampuru and Azangarloksabha entered the fifth hour on Sunday under tight security.

Both seats are home to the party led by Achilles Yadaf. The Azangal seats were vacant after the former Prime Minister was elected to the state legislature, while the Lampuru seats were similarly vacant by the party’s highest Muslim leader, Azam Khan.

The counting process started at 8 am.

In Azangal, Shah Alam, a candidate for the Mayawati Bahjan Samajwadi Party (BSP), has collected more than one vote and is very close to both the BJP and Samajwadi Party (SP) candidates. This powerful performance seems to have had a major impact on the Samajwadi Party’s Damendra Yadaf.

Another factor in this tight finish seems to be that Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav did not participate in the campaign.
