At Jagan Reddy's Mega Meeting, Mother Vijayamma Quits Party Post
It was a shocking turn in events that took place on the first day at a huge meeting of Andhra Pradesh’s ruling YSR Congress Party. YS Vijayalakshmi became its honorary president, commonly known as Vijayamma.
She declared that she would support the election campaign in Telangana by her daughter YS Sharmamila. Her party has frosty ties and is in close contact with Sharmila’s brother.
This announcement was made at the conclusion of her speech at Thursday’s YSRCP plenary, held at Guntur after five years. It was attended by her son, YS Jagan Mohan, Andhra Pradesh Chief minister, and party president.
“There was much speculation, rumourmongering, and unnecessary controversy about us standing together with our daughter YS Sharmamila. She is fighting a solitary fight in Telangana trying to fulfil YS Rajasekhar’s dreams for Telangana. “So, I decided to leave the YSRCP in order to end the unnecessary conflict between the families or discuss conflicts of interest,” she stated.
“I believe YS Jawan will be re-elected Chief Minister. During his most difficult moments, I was there for him. These are happy times. If I do not stand by my daughter, I feel guilty. In the wake of my conscience’s call, I have resigned as honorary president. Vijayamma added that she would continue to be his mother, and will also remain close with Andhra Pradesh’s people.
