Assam: Girl drug inspector held in Jorhat for accepting bribe
Guwahati: The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption wing of Assam police on Saturday arrested two state authorities officers for allegedly accepting bribes.
“Two Assam authorities officers have been arrested by vigilance sleuths whereas accepting alleged bribe cash in separate incidents on Saturday,” an official assertion mentioned.
Based mostly on a criticism, the sleuths of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption laid a lure and arrested Jahnabi Kalita, inspector of medicine, Jorhat, for accepting bribe of Rs 20,000 for issuing permission to open a pharmacy.
Kalita, a senior Inspector of Medication, Jorhat was caught red-handed on Saturday whereas taking the bribe, the assertion mentioned.
In one other operation through the day, a senior assistant of Bilasipara income circle workplace in Dhubri, Mahabub Mollah, was apprehended with bribe cash of Rs 4,000.
Mullah had allegedly demanded the cash for processing a land demarcation work and the complainant had approached the vigilance directorate in opposition to him.
