Assam: The attacker’s house at the Batadraba police station was destroyed
On Saturday, violent and noisy crowds set fire to the Batadraba police station in Assam’s Nagaon district and physically attacked police officers.
The assault allegedly occurred after a person identified as Safiqul Islam in Sarna Bali, who was allegedly arrested by police, died while in custody at the Batadrava police station.
In a video released online, a ferocious male and female mob was seen attacking the Batadrava police station. The angry mobs attacked several police officers on duty and handed the law into their hands when they set fire to the police station.
The law became a fuss and the mob didn’t consider it at all. The violence also led to the injuries of two police officers.
“The scene is absolutely horrifying as about 2,000 mobs (including men and women) attacked the Batadraba police station after the death of a professional fisherman named Safikul Islam, who allegedly died during police detention. It started attacking police officers on duty and later set fire to the Batadraba police station. “
Additional troops were called in to manage the situation, and Nagaon SP Lina Dolly arrived at the scene with other senior officials.
