Assam police seize 444 bags of urea fertilizer from Kamlap district
Based on information from locals, police searched the market and found and seized a urea fertilizer bag hidden near the river.
Authorities said 444 bags of urea fertilizer had been confiscated near the Jarjari River.
Police said they contacted the Department of Agriculture and handed over the seized fertilizer bags. Police claimed that the confiscated fertilizer bag belonged to a detained businessman.
Police have begun an investigation into the criminal investigation department to investigate the matter, adding that police are in contact with the CID. Police concluded that they had to act in accordance with the law.
Previously, Assam police had announced appropriate rewards for inputs that could lead to fertilizer theft at district police or higher levels.
