Assam police claim that criminal cases have diminished in 11 months
In an official statement, state police said the pendency of the Assam case, which was 1,09,081 at the end of May 2021, was reduced to 83,947 at the end of April.

“Since May last year, police have registered 2,834 cases under the NDPS law, arrested more than 4,838 drug traffickers and seized drugs worth more than Rs 548.53,” he added.
In addition, police have registered 141 trafficking cases, arrested more than 104 traffickers and rescued about 250 people in the last 11 months. At the same time, 163 cases of betel nut smuggling from Myanmar were registered, 182 people were arrested, and 146 vehicles were seized.
