Assam: One dead and two injured after a tree fell in an auto rickshaw in the Karimganj district

The incident reportedly occurred near the Karimganj fire department, and the deceased was identified as Azahar Udin.

Three of them were immediately taken to a nearby hospital. However, the driver of the automatic rickshaw has died.

“Three people were injured after a tree fell in a rickshaw near the fire station in Karimganj. I immediately took him to the hospital, but the driver did not survive and died in the hospital,” officials said.

The constant rain in Assam caused havoc and completely disrupted normal life and business. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that heavy rains will continue until June 17 in the northeastern region, and has issued red warnings to Assam and Meghalaya, so this situation is expected to continue.

Recognizing the same, several districts in the state ordered the closure of educational institutions to avoid even more troublesome incidents.

So far, Assam has recorded 42 deaths from floods and landslides this year.
