Sadiya: Assam: NSCN IM cadre nabbed

DIBRUGARH:  Security forces on Monday apprehended 23-year-old NSCN (IM) cadre from the Sadiya area in upper Assam’s Tinsukia district.

Kushal Mili was identified as the apprehended cadre. He is a Changlang District resident in Arunachal Pradesh.  

Based on specific input troops from the Rupai Battalion, Red Shield Division Indian Army launched an operation alongside Sadiya Police. They captured the NSCN-affiliated cadre from Amarpur (Sadiya).

The cadre was seized a 7.65mm pistol, a magazine, and three live ammunition.

Mili, upon further inquiry, confessed that he is a member of NSCN(IM) and has been participating in extortion activities ever since 2017.

 Sources claim that the cadre was involved with extortion in eastern Arunachal Pradesh. 

Army claimed that he was handed to Police for additional investigation.

“The cadre was coming to Sadiya for extortion-related activities and planned to serve extortion on some people in the eastern Arunachal,” said the source.

In a joint operation on Saturday, one Eastern Naga National Government(ENNG), cadre from Sadiya was apprehended by Sadiya’s Rupai Battalion Red Shield Division as well as Sadiya police.

Rangashor Chakma, a Changlang resident was the name of the apprehended cadre.
