Assam Mountaineer Hedayet Ali Scale Everest

Ali, now settled in California, climbed the summit of Everest around 7:30 am.

He was part of an international team with 11 other mountaineers.

Prior to this, he also climbed Mount Elbrus, the highest mountain in Europe, Mount Aconogua in 2019, and Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa in 2018.

Tarnsaikya was the first Assamese to reach the summit of Everest.

Saikia was 37 years old and reached its peak on May 18, 2013. The expedition was sponsored by the North Eastern Council and the Government of Manipur.

He has loved adventure sports since he was a student and is believed to have started climbing at the Adventure Club of Gauhati University in 1989.
