Assam CM provides one-time financial support to Kaziranga drivers and guides

This is an attempt to alleviate the financial difficulties of those engaged in jeep safari in Kaziranga National Park.

The Assam Prime Minister was faithful to his words, and as compensation for their losses, more than 400 gypsy drivers and guides who were hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic were offered a relief package of Rs 25,000.

Covid’s strict blockade and other restrictions have had a negative impact on Kajiranga’s tourism industry for two years. It is worth noting that many people in Kajiranga rely directly or indirectly on tourism for their livelihoods.

Hundreds of drivers and tourist guides involved in the Jeep Safari had to be hit hard, and they suffered enormous losses during the blockade. That’s because tourism was their only source of income.

Meanwhile, Boliwood actor Akshay Kumar was invited to visit the park from Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve (KNPTR). The “thank you” gesture was made after the actor donated 1 rupee for animal welfare in the park.

The actor donated that amount in 2019 under the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund. He observed the devastating situation of wildlife during the Assam flood and said it was absolutely heartbreaking to know about the devastating effects of the Assam flood.
