Assam: A rare sighting of a golden tiger found in Kaziranga

Note that this is the first time I have witnessed a golden tiger in Kaziranga for more than two years, alongside rhinos, wild buffalo and deer.

The tourist who captured the moment was identified as Vishwadit Chhetri, confessing that he was surprised to see the tiger with Sai, adding that he never imagined that he would come across such a rare sighting in his dreams. rice field.

“Usually we don’t see rhinos and royal Bengal tigers together, except when the tigers are hunting,” Chhetri said.

The Golden Tiger was previously seen in Kaziranga in July 2020 and was filmed by the naturalist and destination manager of the luxury cruise ship MV Mahabahu, Mayuresh Hendre.

Meanwhile, Assam’s tiger population surged from 159 in 2018 to 200 in 2021.

Currently, there are 121 tigers in Kaziranga, 48 in Manas, 28 in Oran and 3 in the Nameri Tiger Reserve.
