Assam 2 illegal Bangladeshi migrants sentenced to 5 years imprisonment Share MANKACHAR: A South Salmara District court in Assam sentenced at least two illegal Bangladeshi migrants to five-year imprisonment. Assam’s South Salmara court and its sessions court convicted two Bangladeshi nationals of illegal entry to India and sentenced them both to five year imprisonment. A fine of Rs 10,000 was also levied by the court on both of them. Failure to pay the fine could result in another six-month sentence. These two Bangladeshi citizens were identified as Niranjan and Abdul Hai by Assam’s court.
