AgustaWestland Chopper Seized From Accused In India's Greatest Financial institution Fraud

An AgustaWestland helicopter was seized from the property of a builder accused of cash laundering and dishonest within the Rs 34,000 crore Diwan Housing Finance Company Ltd rip-off case, India’s largest financial institution fraud.

Central Bureau of Investigation, or CBI, officers discovered the helicopter inside a big swanky corridor constructed like a hangar, with popular culture posters adorning the tall partitions on the property of one of many DHFL rip-off accused, Avinash Bhosale, in Pune.

The CBI has been finishing up searches at many areas for the previous few days to find property acquired from the proceeds of the rip-off, officers have mentioned.

Former DHFL high executives Kapil Wadhawan, Deepak Wadhawan and others had been charged by the CBI on June 20 within the financial institution fraud case.

They allegedly cheated a consortium of 17 banks led by Union Financial institution of India by diverting Rs 34,615 crore financial institution loans to pretend account books of DHFL. Then they allegedly used shell corporations and a parallel accounting system, often known as “Bandra Books”, to steal public funds in DHFL by giving pretend retail loans to pretend entities.
