A rare species of turtle rescued by Karigaon

KALAIGAON: A rare species of turtle was rescued from Balipara on the Kulshi River at noon on Thursday and released in the Lakhshimpur fishery. The turtle weighed about 15 kg. While fishing on the Kurushi River, fisherman Buburu Boro caught him on the Kurushi River. He then informed forest officials through a local journalist and later handed it over to Karigaon’s forest authorities. It was released into freshwater from the Laxinpool fishery under the Karaigaon Income Circle by forest authorities.
