Pub Hojan Gold Tea, a rare variety of organic tea from the Golaghat district of Assam, was sold on Monday from the Jorhat auction center at an astonishing price of 10,000 rupees per kilogram. According to officials at the Jorhat Tea Auction Center (JTAC), the tea sold by Pabhojan Organic Tea Estate was purchased by Assam-based tea brand Esah Tea.

Pub Hojan Gold Tea offers a bright yellow liquor with a soothing aftertaste and is made from carefully selected second flash chips picked from the tea plantations. The chips turn golden and add shade to the drink. Bijit Sarma, CEO of Esah Tea, said the tea variety helps to provide customers with one of Assam’s finest tea blends.

This type of tea is rare and for tea lovers, this is a cup experience. Our customers are spread all over the world and will understand the taste and value of this variety. We are pleased to continue our mission to provide them with genuine Assam tea flavors, “he said.

Rakhi Dutta Saikia, owner of Pabhojan Organic Tea Estate, said: The price it earns will help the Assam tea industry regain its lost fame, “she said.

The variety was first produced in response to high demand from discerning consumers, tea lovers, and buyers of this type of high-quality specialty tea, Saikia said.
