A man sentenced to death for murdering a student in Andorra in the fastest verdict

A man who stabbed an engineering student in Andhra Pradesh last August was sentenced to death for one of the fastest convictions and punishments in such cases.

Nallapu Ramya, a third-year student in engineering, was stabbed to death by Kunchala Sasikrishna on a busy road in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. People passed by, but no one came to help her. She met him on Instagram six months before the incident.

The Fast Track Sessions Court in Guntur convicted Kuncharasashi Krishna of murder and sentenced him to death in a verdict on Friday.

Andhra Pradesh’s Prime Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Lady, praised the verdict and called it a “historic step” in the fight to end crimes against women.

“We welcome the historic verdict of the student’s Lamiya murder case by the Fast Track Court. Congratulations to the police station who worked hard to complete the investigation of the case and bring the accused to trial.” Lady tweeted.
