26 Rohingya detained by police in Kacha

Silchar: On Saturday, Bangladesh Foreign Minister Abdul Momen warned India’s counterpart S Jaisankar at a meeting in Guwahati about the influx of Rohingya. The next day, Cachar police detained 26 Rohingya Muslims from Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier on Sunday, police detained an SUV from Guwahati with 26 people, including 12 children from three families. Cachar SP Ramandeep Kaur has announced that the Rohingya family is from Jammu & Kashmir. They arrived at Kamakia station, hired three Innova Toyota cars and headed for Sirchar. One of them had a refugee card issued by the United Nations. The purpose of their visit to Sirchar, which has not yet been excavated from Kashmir. However, police suspect that someone in Silchar maintains a connection with the Rohingya. Even three SUVs were sent from Silchar to Kamakia station and received them. The drivers of these cars, identified as Ranjan Sinha, Raja Kar, and Shobhan Deb, were also detained.

Last month, a racket known as the Kum Kum Gang was destroyed by the NIA in Bangalore. A gang led by KKAhmed of Katigorah used Myanmar refugee Rohingya Muslims for trafficking.
