13 AANLA militants surrender at Assam, abandoning weapons and ammunition

According to police, 13 militants from the All Adivasi National Liberation Army (AANLA) surrendered in front of security forces in the Karbi Anglong district of Assam on Sunday.

He said they had deposited a cash of weapons and ammunition, including automatic rifles.

He said top officers of Assam Police, CRPF and Assam Rifles attended the surrender program at the Bokajan Police Station.

The militants put in four AK series rifles, four pistols, one revolver, and a few ammunition, officials said.

Prime Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the state continued its peaceful march with the surrender of the militants.
