1 ULFA-I Assam’s cadres were shot dead by security forces after a fierce encounter in Tinsukia

A fierce encounter between the United Liberation Front of Asom Independent (ULFA-I) and security forces killed a ULFA-I executive in the Tinsukia district of northern Assam on Friday.

The murdered terrorist was identified as Gann Asom.

Upon confirming the incident, police deputy inspector Jitmol Doley said, “One ULFA (I) militant was shot down. We injured at least a few members of the group in a fire exchange. Weapons and ammunition have been recovered. Our search efforts are still underway. All adjacent villages and escape routes have been blocked to prevent militants from escaping. “

Security forces received information on the existence of six ULFA-I executives, led by one Lupon Asom, evacuating to Dapasah Majigaon under the Kakopasah police station, sources said.

“A group of six militants was trapped in the house. A joint police and military operation killed one militant,” said Debojit Deuri, a Tinsukia police foreman.

“After receiving the input, a joint team of 14 Assam regiments and police began operations. As soon as they approached the evacuated house, the security team was heavily shot. They were also guarded with two grenades. I attacked the team, “said a source.
